I told a short story in a meeting at work over a week ago and people are still laughing about it.
It was more of a comment than a story.
It was actually true.
The people that laughed were in their 50's all the way down to early 20's.

Here's how it came the fruit.
They were saying that Natalie one of our work mates was on her way to California.

I made the comment.
We got drunk in Odessa Texas one night and didn't sober up until we almost got to California.

One day these two buddies are walking through a field. They come upon a large deep hole in the ground. They can't see the bottom. Curious as boys can be..

Buddy says hey find something to throw in the hole so we can see how deep it is.

They look around and see and old transmission sitting in the brush near the hole.

Buddy 2 says grab the other end this will make a racket when it hits the bottom!

They hoist the transmission up, carry it over and sling it into the hole in the ground.

All of a sudden a goat comes charging out of the bushes, eyes wide as dinner plates and jumps head long into the hole.

The two boys look at each other in bewilderment.

As they are staring into the hole in shock, a farmer comes along. Hey boys have you seen my goat?

Buddy says, yes! He came barreling out of the bushes and jumped clean into that hole! It was the craziest thing I have ever seen!

The farmer scratches his head, looks around and says, that's impossible. I had him tied to a transmission.

this happened yesterday.

phone rang. my wife answered it. it was a telemarketer.
my wife was in a funny mood.

MA'AM, THIS IS ______(ethnic guy), CALLING FROM SPECTRUM. DO YOU HAVE YOUR TV ON?

no, i don't.

MA'AM, I NEED YOU TO GET YOUR REMOTE. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY!

MA'AM, GET YOUR REMOTE. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY!

what kind of an emergency is it?

MA'AM, THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR TV SATELLITE. IN TWO DAYS YOU WILL NO LONGER
BE ABLE TO USE YOUR TV. GET YOUR REMOTE.

but i can't get the remote right now.

WHY CAN'T YOU GET THE REMOTE?

i'm in the bath tub.

he never did.
my wife was ready for him though. she was going to tell him that she hoped the tv did stop working
because all her husband does is watch sports all day long, and she was just sick of it.

the tv hasn't been plugged in for years,
and we don't have a bath tub.
