Supposedly the first time the holiday was observed was in September, but later moved to May. In the linked article it mentions that Canadians may use an alternate date on the first Saturday in June, so you might wait till then.

Last week or so I asked a guy at work with an accent where he was from.
He had light colored hair and a reddish beard.
He replied that he was from Transylvania.
He then said I bet that surprised me.
I said no it didn't and that everyone in Transylvania didn't look like a vampire with a black cape and hair.
The guy got the biggest laugh out of my reply.

the U.P. would probably be lumped in with the canadians. there is still snow on the ground, but its making a fast retreat
