That cold southerly buster ripped up our eastern highlands, dumping some snow on the peaks in Tasmania, Victoria (including Mt Baw Baw) and into New South Wales. Not enough to survive for long, more of a good dusting, but I think it raised hopes of a white Christmas for some.

In about a half hour, it should drop to negative Fahrenheit, here.

Bit of a cold snap here as well, with the first real dusting of snow, but really scant, not enough to actually cover the ground although cold enough for it to stay. Nights dropping to -10C over Christmas Eve and Day.
First time this season hearing the trucks/plows go round at night - it must've been trucks sanding, because there's not enough to plow.

It got down to 11° here overnight.

And they are saying that this is the coldest day in the area, so far, this year! Nothing this cold even in the winter in January or February. It was still 13° at 9 am., and warming up slower than expected.

64° was the low this morning. That’s about where the high should be. 76° is the forecast high for today. Beautiful weather, sunny. I don’t need any snow or cold to enjoy Christmas.

Probably going to get slammed with rain and thunder storms tonight.
Cooler tomorrow in the 60s.

Some bad storms rolling through central and east Texas today and tonight. Missed us so far, but should be getting real close later tonight.

Stormed most of the night here. Might be wrapping up now. Didn’t hear any hail. Light show deluxe. Local airport shows over 2.5” of rain fell. I bet we got every bit of that if not more. Potent storm system.

61° at the moment. Looks like another strong system of thunderstorms is due Thursday night.

Tender garden lettuce is no match for a Texas thunderstorm. No sign of hail here, however, as the rest of the crops, the more durable brassicas show zero issues with the storm.

The Good news is my kayak leak patch seems to have worked.

8F above. My yew hedge is looking pretty frosty! And Miss Yin wants to forage my alocasia, rather than eat her good catnip. Sigh.

You want that temperature in F or C, as in Cretaceous.

My husband called me when I was out shopping and told me to come home now. Confirmed tornado is on the ground now. It's just now passing over (major) Interstate 45.

@SpookyShoe been watching the coverage. Looks like the tornado is sliding by south of you towards bacliff and the bay.

it might have gone over 40 degrees today which is a nice break and all,
but it has created a mess outside. my son got the camry stuck in short
order trying to get to work so i brought the subaru keys out to him, then
got busy with the tractor and snow blower for awhile before rain put an end to that.
then i started chopping ice and moving it and some of the slush with the snow scoop.
temps will start dropping tomorrow.
yooper work out

Been dreary here all day - while not raining hard at any time, it hasn't stopped since I woke up. About 2 pm I drove up to Aldi, thinking that many people wouldn't have gone out, due to the weather, and I was right! I would normally never go anywhere in the middle of a weekend day, but I was only there 15 minutes, as usual. It was just misting while I was out, and looks like a little more than 1/2" fell. Tomorrow is supposed to dry out some, but late tomorrow the heavy rain is forecast, along with 63° for a high! Unfortunately, NYE is forecast for rain, but maybe it will change, by then, though I wasn't planning on being outside.
