Tropical “light” here last three or four days. Nothing I find oppressive or anything like that. Highs around 87° lows in low 70s. Dewpoints around 70. Breezy at times. Brief downpours. Need the rain. Pattern looks to hold until mid next week, then maybe a bit more typical early November type of weather of highs in high 70s and lows in the mid-low 60s.
Halloween is generally warm here and this year is no exception. Won’t be getting any trick or treaters thanks to a 900 feet of drive way.
No 40s at night in the long term outlook until after mid November. That’s fine by me. Not ready quite yet for sweater weather.

yes, snow predicted over night. then back to 40 for friday, and continue
to warm for a few days, 50s for saturday, upper 50s by monday.
but for now, it is snowing and blowing, and not very nice outside.

Tied high temperature for Halloween in many places around here, and a few had record highs. Here it was 82°, but again, the temps dropped fairly quickly, once the sun went down. Tomorrow is forecast for 77°, then back down to 62° for a couple of days, which is still a couple degrees warmer than normal, then, back up.

It rained here this morning; though not enough to register on the rain gauge, it was damp out, and there were drops on my car - first time in over a month. And the humidity was 72%, and I can't remember the last time it was out of the 30s. The temperature didn't drop below 66° overnight, but it's not supposed to get as warm as the record 82° yesterday, but still 78° - well above average - before it cools off to low 60s the next two days (still above average), before going up again. Supposed to be very windy, so a bunch more leaves will come down for me.

We just completed a record for this area. It was the first October ever without a single drop of rain.
The next ten days will see highs in the mid-upper 70's/low 80's; lows will be 50's-low 60's. MAYBE a 30-40% chance of showers next week. I'll believe it when I see it.

Officially the rain here was just a "trace" - the reason it didn't register on the meter. 34 days ago was the last rain in the area, which was only .11" (only .07" in my garden), and it was early September when I got a fairly good rain - 1.25", which still isn't a large amount, and we didn't have any of those typical 2"+ storms we usually get most springs and summers. Last two years I had to set up my drip irrigation system early - usually, the rain would keep everything watered well into the spring. And the fall would normally get enough rain for my garlic and cool weather crops, but not this year!

It still got to 80° today. I would have waited until tomorrow, to do those pickles, since it is going to be much cooler, but the wind was very gusty today - up to the 45 mph in gusts, and what I was going to do was leaf blowing, which would have been a losing battle! Next two days much cooler, almost down to average, and less wind, so I'll be outside then.

Tonight it will stay in the 50s, so I don't have to bring anything inside. It got to 67° today, then back up to the 70s tomorrow, and maybe 80s again Wednesday! And of course, no rain - up to 35 days now.

Thunderstorms and rain last night.
Right after a big fire east of Bastrop.
It's called the Hudson fire.
Burned over 400 acres and evacuated over 60 homes.
First rain in I don't remember when.

Amazing there’s anything left to burn around Bastrop.
There's a lot left to burn including all the over planted new trees.

We got 2.75" last night according to my rain gauge. Nice gentle rain over a 3-4 hour period. The news said there was a chance of hail so I lugged 6 of my best plants into the shed.
The love the fresh smell in the air the day after a nice rain.

We're supposed to get 3-5" of rain starting later today. It's coming up from the Gulf, generated by that new hurricane that's trying to form down there. The rain will be appreciated!
