Are you suggesting you need some seed for Frank’s pepper?

Frank's has always been my crutch. I guess that I need to step up my game, and actually try to succeed with some more difficult varieties.

i am growing franks again. seeds from sandhill are a few years old.
if i get ripe enough peppers to save seed from, i will include some in the next care package.

Limited space here, so lots less than most of you guys. Hoping for at least three sweet type peppers, in with a tomato plant in the planter, and 1 jalapeno for PIC's dad, who likes them. Love to roast or stuff peppers here, salads too.

I'm thinking of passing on anaheims. I usually grow numex Joe E Parker. I need to make chili sauce this year, and I usually use a lot of anaheims for that, so I am torn.



Question - What other sweet peppers look like red marconi and would be common at a PA farmstand? By internet pics, I'm pretty sure it is red marconi. The bush grows taller than my romani peppers.

I wasn’t gonna do it I swore I would let it go this year but I got springitis and started some seeds to grow indoors this time instead of outside my list is small

My peppers are really looking good this year. Lots of fruit on most of them now. The Standouts are large Red Sweet Antigua, each of the five plants have a lot of fruit on them. I’ve never had this pepper before and it’s supposed to be very sweet when red. I grew those from some older seed I had from Renaissance Farms.

My three Bell peppers each have two fruit on them. Keystone, Yolo Wonder and Big Bertha are the types. We’ll see if they produce anything more, the peppers, the fruit, themselves are about half sized and the plants are still flowering.

Jimmy Nardellos, the takara Shishitos, the Golden Greek and Italian pepperocini looks well fruited. I staggered my plantings over March and into April. The various hot peppers are mostly just now setting fruit.

I planted more peppers this year than ever before and most of them from seed. Looks like the weather has been agreeable to the plants. It certainly has been dry, most any water they are getting is provided by me.

I’ve got pollinators galore in the form of carpenter and honey bees.

Pests on the peppers have been few and far in between. Picked off a hornworn on one or two. Sprayed Bt on all of them yesterday. Most of the leaves look untouched on most of the plants. Fungal and disease issues look very limited. The One hot banana pepper I got as a set looks infected with something. May rip it out.

Reluctant as I am to hype America's Dairyland, there's another WESconsin-specific variety, the Beaver Dam Pepper https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beaver_Dam_pepper, a little on the hot side for my tastes (500-1000 SHUs) but I may give it a whirl next season.

have been replaced by palanchko chudo, and slonovo uno (elephant ear) after finding seeds from last years
swap, and hearing good things about the latter.
