I never heard the word 'bacon' until I started school. My parents, grandparents and everyone else around me called it midland or side meat.

Today's Monday Morning BLT Brunch participants, nice Yeller and Purple Heirlooms from Metro Market, and originating from the Heirloom Tomato Ranching hotbed of Ontario Canada, courtesy of Del Freco Pure (https://delfrescopure.com/our-produce/tomatoes/)

Any Canadian TJers (@bower, @Toomanytomatoes, et al) have any experience or background to share on this supplier?
The Fruit: Abaft: Sliced: Come-N-Git-It! Both were firm & meaty; the Yeller has a nice sour undertone to play off the sweetness, the Purple was just sweet-n-tasty.

Day 351 of 2024 Leap Year Of The BLT!, a mere 15 remain. Today's Monday Morning BLT Brunch selection is a fine Purple from Metro Market. For some reason, the lovely and long suffering Mrs. Gotch only wanted one (1) Tomato for today's festivities...but The Gotch knows better'n to argue with La Jefa.
The Tomato's lonely, but she's a beaut: Bottom's up/Say "ahhh": Sliced, this 'un was the nearest to perfection in the firmness department in a long time, and just look at them there slices glistening: And plated: This here Tomato had a difficult to describe, but damned good, taste!
