Re: Random and miscellaneous garden photos
I picked these two Cherokee Carbon tomatoes yesterday at first blush because I was afraid the birds would be pecking at them. This morning they looked as though they had ripened a bit further, so I'll probably have nice tasting fresh tomatoes in a few days. My plants have been in the ground for 2 months.

Got 6/10” of rain early in the morning. Garden looks so fresh and clean after a nice rain like that. Slim has the day off, but Shorty is hard at work protecting the tomatoes. He might need a trip to the barber, he’s been on the job so long.

Things blooming here and there. Asiatic day flower and ruelia are invasive and grow like weeds.
Ginger, gomphrena (compact), a few crinum, Asiatic Day flower, ruellia (Mexican petunia).

Like karstopography I saw a Viceroy. I've probably had them, but never noticed the difference between a Monarch and a Viceroy.

First big blue dragonfly of the season. Lurking in the valley on a log, the day before the rain.

I'm pretty sure I didn't, I don't recall ever seeing a pink marigold? I'll have to search the internet and see if one exists.

Pollinator Paradise:
Pentas, Skyscraper orange salvia, a glimpse of Gold Star esperanza, blue plumbago, and some barely visible purple ruellia behind the plumbago. I keep the once functioning water fountain filled with water and the birds use it to drink out of and bathe.
