She's so beautiful.
I noticed your harness has a chest loop to hook the leash to. With our Ella, who is 75 pounds of pull, it made all the difference. She can't pull too much or she loses balance. And she is STRONG!

My mom's giant Doberman would pull me all over town while I was on roller skates.
Even across intersections.
He would obey all commands so it wasn't dangerous.
Stop go left right.
I raised him from a tiny puppy and we grew up with eachother.

Such a sweet baby! And she'll grow into those feet, too.
I love labs. They're a little goofy and a bit headstrong at times but in a funny way. Maybe "persistent" is a better word.

Naw, headstrong was right!

She's a sweet pup, and headstrong is a great word for her, but a good girl too. Also amazingly smart, and fearless.
My last "real dog"

(my dachshund and chihuahua are spoiled house pets), was an Australian Kelpie. She was amazing. She was never a typical puppy, she was always a good grown up dog who didn't make waves and just did anything I asked just because she wanted to. She was timid with strangers, people are so weird when you tell them they can't pet your dog. "Why, does she bite?" "No" "why can't I pet her then?" "she doesn't like it" *confused look*. She trusted me to keep her safe, so yeah, hands off.
Sam is similar in some ways. Very in tune with me, but also a happy social butterfly type (typical lab temperment, but mom was mostly australian shepherd and heeler and she was the same way), we've had to work on teaching her that not everyone wants to pet her. She is very much a puppy, and loves to push boundaries.

Sam is growing up.
I have had people tell me I cant pet their dog for one reason or another including they bite and dont like to be petted.
Next thing you know they are running up to me and licking me to death and rolling over on their backs to have their belly rubbed.
It is very perplexing to the dog owners.
A nice lady up the street calls me the dog man.
For a time people would drive into my driveway and call their dog to get in and go home.
Next they would wave at me, their dog would run to the car and get in.
Even had dogs do sleep overs in the house with my cat Smokey, the owners would know so they wouldn't worry and pick them up the next day.

Floppy ears always seem best to me. They seem to help protect the dogs ear cananls from rain water plus some infections, yeasts, and mites. Our daughters German Shepard has straight up ears and spends a lot of time at the vet clinic getting treated for ear infections.

This is Sam's predecessor, Leah, Australian Kelpie and Border Collie. She was my most favorite dog ever. I told her she was never allowed to die, but she did anyway, but she almost made it to 14 first, so I guess thats ok.

My sister decided she wanted to make dog bandanas to sell, so we dressed up the girls and took them for a photo shoot.
The not-Sam dog is Kaia.

The bandanas look so cute, and Sam is beautiful. She's so sleek and shiny.

I wish she was as soft as she looks, her fur is coarse and she's always dirty

We had a rescue dog we named mama dog.
She had a coat of guard hair and under it was a thick coat of fine furry hair.
It was impossible to get her wet to the skin. During floods she would still wade out into the flood waters to use the restroom.
She lived under my tomato and pepper plants in underground tunnels she excavated under pallets.
Big dog too.

8 months old. She badly needs a walk, but it's 107 degrees outside. I did actually buy her some boots so she could walk when it's a little cooler (we can't avoid pavement), but I can't be out there in this type of heat, gives me migraines. So, she's insane.
Oh, also!

We got a breed ID dna kit. So we can find out exactly what we're dealing with here. I know it doesn't actually matter, I've had mutts all my life, but I still want to know.

Wow that is a surprise. I would have guessed at least 50% Labrador Retriever.
