Day 20 of 2025-21st Century Silver Jubilee Year Of The BLT!, 345 remain. Today's Monday Morning BLT Brunch selections are a coupla Heirloom Reddy -n- Yeller, from Metro Market via Sunset Grown/greenhousegrown.ca (https://www.sunsetgrown.com/our-produce/tomatoes/)

Funniest thing, half the Yeller went juicy/weeping/squishy overnight which required excising the bad part:

Bottoms up (the bad part evident):

Sliced:

And ready for delicious; both had the nice, blended "Tomatoey Taste" always welcome on a Sub Zero morning:

Yep, $3.49/lb! And Woodman's hasn't even started stocking their vine-ripened Heirlooms, yet.

They're Baaaaaaack! The Woodman's vine-ripened Heirlooms, courtesy of Del Campo Reserve/Mexico, and available at (@Mark_Thompson sit down before reading) the unheard of price of $1.29/lb:
thumbnail_IMG_3611.jpg
There must've been over 15 cases, and while there was great variety, many were overripe and wouldn't have lasted until Monday Morning BLT Brunch:
thumbnail_IMG_3612.jpg
But it was necessary to spend ~ five (5) minutes digging through for some real beauties, and come up with these:
thumbnail_IMG_3613.jpg
The bottom two (2) were bequeathed, along with a Waltham Butternut Squarsh, to fellow TJ pal @bboomer.

To find out where those up top end up; stay tuned!

Both were fantastic!! Unfortunately, but the time I got to Woodmans, the following day, the tomatoes on display took a turn for the worst. They were either picked through or hit their expiration date.
Fear not! Summer is only months away. :(

@Cornelius_Gotchberg Ridiculous, that’s pretty much free! Free beautiful heirlooms in the middle of winter. I’m moving.

Got my bacon smoked, now waiting on a slicer to ripen. Hopefully shouldn’t be long now.

@Cornelius_Gotchberg It’s one of Herr Sutherland’s alleged big boys. Last one on that plant hit one pound but had a punky spot so provided exactly zero BLTs. Fingers crossed on this one.
