I ordered the glorified Baker Creek catalog one year and that was enough. The only difference I really saw was that a lot of the photos in the free catalog are full page in the paid version which makes the catalog bigger. Nice if you want to cut some out and frame them but I don't need that.

I got the free Baker Creek catalog today.
Is this the large, luxury catalogue or something more modest?

@GoDawgs.
OK. I see that there are two versions now - one for gardeners just wanting to buy seed; and a fancy one to put on the coffee table for which we pay a fair amt of $$$$$.
Many thanks.

Baker Creek and Seeds 'n Such both landed here yesterday. I did a quick run through of both last night after a long day of T-giving dinner prep. Pinetree and Jung will probably be next. Other than a few staples I need to replenish, I don't need or want much else. Oh, who am I kidding? There are
always a few toys that will end up on the buy list!

I just ordered from Pinetree. A few packs of lettuce seeds. Plus, I picked up some beans, squash and peas seeds, but no tomatoes. I got tomatoes covered.

@Gotch.
That is hilarious! To which I reply:
And do not spread the compost on the weeds to make them ranker.
So, beat that, Mr. Gotchberg!
I'm going to stream some Shakespeare films tonite (from Criterion) thanks to you reminding me how much I love (some of) them and how changing some of his words can be so much fun.

Toms. rich in quality but not gaudy? As in a round, uniformly coloured, tasty, un-cracked variety? My fave in that category would be "Honey" from Latvia. Most folks don't know this tom. Looks like something from the grocery store but it's an heirloom. Not to be confused with the non heirloom, non-open pollinated Honey.

"For The Tomato Oft Proclaims The Man"
The Tomato proclaiming the grower? Should be an entirely different thread, am I right?
Anywho...different...?

I’ve ordered from Pinetree and now Baker Creek, both orders coming days after their respective catalogs arrived. These were online orders, but would I have been prompted to make an order without the arrival of the catalogs?
