Not a huge fan of either. Inciting a gag reflex just thinking about the combination, but knock yourself out. PB and honey in a pinch, though.

If you are going to eat onions on peanut butter, then you definitely need to add some crisp bacon!
If you're going with peanut butter and bacon, ditch the onions and add pizza dough and provolone cheese. It's known as "Skippy's Dare".

I have the strong onions and the right peanut butter.
I'm revisiting the peanut butter and onion sandwich.
Probably today for a snack tomorrow.

Your original pic looks like you were using something like a Granex (thick rings). What are you using this time?
Up here, we have yellow, white, red and sweet (yellow, with thick rings) onions. They are unknown varieties that likely change all the time. Many years ago, the red ones were called Bermuda Reds and were the hottest of all the colors. Today, it's hit or miss on pungency on all colors, with the exception of true Vidalias (which are always a miss).
I assume you known not to put them in the fridge.

Honey pairs well with peanut butter, too.
If you add non-instant powdered milk to peanut butter and honey, mix it up, roll it into balls and freeze it, it's pretty tasty. Don't even think about using the instant kind (of powdered milk).

I discovered that I love almonds and cheese together, so I figured I would try peanut butter and cheese sandwiches. My conclusion is that the peanut butter was too sweet (for that sandwich). I'm guessing I would like it more with extra salt and no sugar.

Did you try the peanut butter and onion sandwich again, yet?

Actually in a lot of Asian dishes they use peanuts in savory dishes. And sesame seed paste tastes sort of similar to peanut butter. Sesame seed dressing is sweet like PB & tastes good on onions. But no to the bread for me.

You can grind your own peanut butter at our store.
No sugar or anything in it.

Canned sounds awful but freshly boiled peanuts are delicious especially when spices added in the water. Don't ask me for the recipe, I never made it but it's a common snack in Hawaii. I think the origin is Chinese not sure.

These had salt, because that's about all that I could taste. If I closed my eyes, it was almost like I was eating heavily salted water chestnuts.

I've never had a boiled peanut in my life.
