I agree with the dipping hack. I often choose a bowl for french toast and pancakes and put the syrup on the side. The pancakes should be buttermilk, or at least sour milk.
I also detest the fake syrups. Real maple syrup is the way to go, and doesn't take nearly as much either.
I do make pear syrup and that is what I was eating when I opened this. Deer scrapple in a bowl with pear syrup on the side/bottom. I prefer maple for scrapple, and sometimes ketchup, but pear is good too.

But hamburgers..no ketchup for me. The only time I ever liked ketchup on hamburgers was McDonald's, the small hamburgers/cheeseburgers. Back in high school. Those would get at least a packet each. Or Quarter Pounders. But not Big Macs. And I never put ketchup on homemade burgers. They get mayo, whether they are beef or deer.

Why I can eat ketchup on scrapple, but not burgers or liverwurst, I don't know. About the only thing I put ketchup on nowadays is fries or scrapple. I had some ketchup on parsnip fries the other day.

Deer scrapple and pear syrup doesn't look like much on a screen, but sure tastes good. It is really lean so gets fried in real butter. Just a wipe of the stick on the skillet under each piece.

Tormato brings up waffles...waffles get vanilla ice cream in between a couple, with maple syrup on the side to dip in...

I have never measured for pancakes in my life.
You would be better off looking on line.
There are hundreds of them.
You can do the 50/50 flour masa mix or 100% masa.
Ingredients would be about the same as pancakes.
Masa.
Fluid.
Egg if you want.
Baking powder.

That's how I fix them... also, try shredded coconut in the batter, and... chia seed or flax seed (or even chenopodium seed)... I like some fiber in my pancakes...

I'll mix in some masa harina. You mix in some buckwheat.

Made two half pound hamburgers this week.
First one was two 1/4 pound patties rolled out really thin and they cooked really fast on the comal.
The second was rolled out the same size but was just 1 1/2 pound patty.
All other toppings the same..
I liked the single thicker patty the best but both were very flavorful and juicy.
In this experiment I discovered you need to make the patty almost twice the size of the bun you are putting it on.
It will shrink to about the same diameter of the bun when finished.
In this case I used the smaller buns not the larger ones.
In each case the meat stuck outside the bun just a little.
Observation is a 1/2 pound patty rolled out like this will make anyone happy.
I rolled them out by making a ball mashed down on top of a sheet of cling wrap with another on top.
Used one of my many homemade rolling pins.
Here is the double quarter pounder with cheese and all the fixings.
