A random image, this is toadflax. It is purple toadflax and not fully in bloom yet. It grows every year in the garden and is a bee magnet when the blossoms come out. Every year when it has seeded, I run my hand up the stalks and throw the seed somewhere else in the garden to grow. It doesn't take over the garden and with my help wanders around from place to place year to year. The bees always manage to find it.

And after a long wait, and a lot of assistance by the guard ants, the peonies are just about to bloom.

1. Toadflax sounds like an ingredient in a witch's spell.
2. Peonies will not grow in my climate.

1) you forget toe of frog, an essential emulsifier
2) We are peonies if you please, we are peonies if you don't please...
I wasn't sure if I could get the peonies to grow either but moving them worked. I suspect that you are right but equal!y you have some lovely blooms that I will never have the chance to grow here either, hence why I love the photos .

This is a tea light holder..
IMG_20210613_095339_hdr_kindlephoto-306106824.jpg
It is a empty...
Last night it had three tea lights in it. The small candles set in a small metal case.
This morning as I was making my coffee, I saw the last one being stolen by mr. magpie....

So last night, I left one tea light, one ball of foil and a ring pull from a can. The tea light is gone, the foil got moved out of the tea light holder (was it too big?) and the ring pull hasn't moved, yet.

The dragonflies are back. They can eat hundreds of mosquitoes in one day. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

I finally located pictures taken on different cameras.
Iris are, of course, over but now I know where they all are after having to dig them out of where they were due to fence repair that still hasn't happened!
The toad flax as posted above by A in A is loved by hummingbirds. Each tiny flower gets attention.
Even when delicious salvias like the skyscraper are blooming. This is one that was wintered over in the garage.
I've seen them taste the euphorbia at a friend's in the country. Don't know if they like mine.
This white peony does well and smells great!
Rain in Juneuary.
This pink one is one I moved from under a tree that grew above it and shaded it over 30 years.

We had a colony of bees take up residence in the space between the first and second floor of the house. They were entering the house through a small space between the siding of the second floor and the brick of the first floor. Luckily we were able to engage a team of bee farmers to come and remove the bees. The beekeeper is the guy in the white suit. He is sucking the bees out of the space and into a box where the bees will be taken to his bee farm which is about 30 miles away. They have to remove the honeycomb, treat the space with pine oil, and then seal the space.
They had to remove some of the siding to get to the hive.
The bee dude rents bees out to those who need them.

Sounds like a win- win all around. Thankfully is wasn't wasps who can be quite destructive.

5 gallons of honey removed! The bee guy estimated the hive had been there a few months. Two bee boxes were filled up with bees.
IMG_20210629_161420133_HDR.jpg
He also said he had just come from a job where 23 gallons of honey were harvested!
If you suspect you have a hive in your home you need to do something immediately.
