I haven't had Hellmanns in probably ten years.
The idea of a recycled plastic jar is a real turn off for me.
I also don't like their misleading labeling either.
Like with olive oil.
How much olive oil what kind of olive oil and so on.
The main ingredient is still vegetable oil.

5% olive oil, 64% Canola. Such BS.

whole eggs distilled vinegar
egg yolks
salt
sugar
lemon juice concentrate
calcium disodium edta
natrual flavors

Head to head with Dukes about 2 years back, hellmans won in this house. But I bought dukes when necessary since the size was still 32 oz and the price a bit less. I think Sauer's was another one that was Ok. Can't stand kraft or various cheapies.

I don't necessarily love one brand of mayonnaise over another now or if it has olive oil or not. I did like Hellmann's back in the day before they changed recipe but I wasn't loyal to it even back then. When I can get a bottle of mayonnaise with a busted cap for 50 cents no matter brand or oil used is how I make decisions.

I have certainly passed on the salvage store mayos in the past. I don't know if there even ARE any salvage stores anymore. Three I knew of closed with covid.

If theychanged the recipe since (this is dated best by Jun 24 but is of course just fine) then maybe I should stock up on old jars.

That’s the ingredients for regular Hellmann’s. Hellmann’s markets a specific mayo at a higher price labeled with made with Olive Oil. True statement, it is made with Olive Oil, but evidently only a tiny fraction of the overall amount of oil.

Seems disingenuous and misleading on the part of Hellmann’s to feature a label splashed with the words Olive Oil and have so little actual Olive Oil as an ingredient, but maybe that’s just me.

Companies that look to deceive consumers like that aren’t going to gain much trust from me.

Yeah that's like calling it fruit juice when it is 5% juice. Or cranberry apple juice that is 5% cranberry and 50% apple. Clearly that should be apple cranberry, not cranberry apple.

I admit I don't bother with most youtube vids people post, I read the post and that title page on the vid but most things I won't play.

Several of us out there that definitely know something has changed.

But they have sugar.

The Kirkland mayo at Costco is VERY good, but I have not seen it in YEARS!

Have you tried Duke’s? It’s good! Amazon Fresh carries it often.

But that is from 2020...and hellman's proved better than duke's in 2022. By my tastebuds. Duke's was good and still slightly cheaper, but, hellman's was better.

There was another mayo that was good...10 years back. Was it a Mrs. Someone's. That was pretty pricey though even compared to hellman's, back then. Just did a search, I think it was Mrs. Filbert's. EDIT TO ADD I may be wrong about the pricey, maybe it just got hard to find. Doesn't seem like it is not made anymore.

I noticed the clear plastic rings my store brand soda comes in has that ugly grey recycled color to it.
