Participants have sent in anywhere from 0 to 3,000 packs, with an average for the past several years of about 150, with about 150 different varieties going back out to participants. That does not include non-tomato seeds, the amount of which cannot be predicted. Generally it is 10 packs for each variety, and 1 pack for each person requesting a variety on their posted wish list. If you have anything considered "very rare" and you have enough seeds (minimum 5 per pack), perhaps contact me via PM, to see if it is worth packing up more than 10 for a variety.

And, I do hope to see many more wish lists posted fairly soon, and many participants reading those wish lists to fulfill requests. An early posting should be an incentive, because once participants start sending in their packages, don't expect them to send a second package to cover late wish lists

If the Houzz Secret Santa Swap is happening, I'm hoping that wish lists can be posted much earlier. The MMMM is going to keep me extremely busy, and for me to participate there (a complete failure last year), early wish lists would be a great help (just like with this swap ;) )

Gary, I can post the Secret Santa swap and ask everyone to post their wish lists earlier if it would help you ! when would be early enough ? mid - late November ?

Earliest of November would be best for me.

I'd like to participate as well, but since I'm from Germany I'm not sure how much cash (US $) to include for @Tormato to also get a package back to Germany :)

If just small seeds like tomatoes and peppers. I usually pack about 40 varieties in an envelope, cost to mail it is about US $1.65. More than about 40 means a 2nd envelope, more than about 80 means a 3rd envelope, etc..If packaging large seeds like beans, it would be a bubble mailer, which might not make it through, and the cost would be roughly $20, or maybe more.

Shipping across the Atlantic to Europe is only $1.65?
That's a pleasant surprise ...

A thin letter, about 3/16 inch thick maximum, flexible, under 1 ounce, one US "Global Forever" stamp (about $1.65) ships to anywhere in the world (other than a few countries that our government doesn't allow any postal packages sent to).

Send in #0 bubble mailer for tomato seeds. You will need something bigger for beans and such. Include return postage, your username, and a label with your return address. Include a list with the varieties that you are sending in along with a short description and also list which categories that you would like to enter them in, if any. Include 5-10 seeds per pack. 10 packs to enter a category. Some tomatoes can be entered into more than one category but you need 10 for each one. Then there is your wish list. List your wishes in alphabetical order and let it be known which is your most wanted tomato of all. This is a wish list, you may not get them all but Gary does a heck of a job trying to please everyone.

A #0 (6" X 9" ) is the standard size used in the swap, for roughly 150 tomato varieties, and then whatever else is requested and what comes in.
