I always wanted to see what AKmark's set up looked like, his yields sounded incredible. I was never able to sign up to Tomatoville so could never see his photos.

Yes incredible is correct. It's a shame you can't visit the thread on TV and see the more than 20 pages of his work and comments from some people who are here on The Junction also.

Dwarf Velvet Night - this did really well last year in adverse conditions. I was impressed at that!

Also started three 6-packs of Celebrity for an old friend and some other stuff for him. I only charge him enough to cover the cost. And I always give him a few freebie other 'maters to try but he sure grows the heck out of those Celebritys!

I just realized that five of the thirteen varieties I started are all from MMMM over the last couple of years. Thanks again to Tormato and all who contributed seeds!

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but sometimes I get confused on tomatoes skin color. If a red fleshed tomato has yellow skin that makes the overall tomato "red", right? If a red fleshed has clear skin then it's "pink" right? And if a yellow fleshed has yellow skin that makes it "orange"? So that yellow fleshed with clear skin makes it "yellow" right?

I think I have to many tomatoes haha

I got up again and started more haha atlas I bought these seeds last year and they just didn’t make it out. It’s the if one don’t make I’ll start another one see how it works or the I got time but you really don’t..the drive to do it right and be productive is nuts haha. But then you have family and kids that don’t garden and there like whatcha growing this year .. and a new neighbor who works nights who now has my number because I gave her a tomato last year to welcome her give me random text in the middle of the night .. asking how things are going haha.. I love it but oh the pressure

I read the forum all summer, make notes, make up my grow list, and obtain seed in the Fall so that when I start reading threads like this, my current year garden is already set. Otherwise, I suffer from 'chicken math' and end up with too many tomatoes for my space.

Yup! I have hens and while I can easily control myself, I cannot with tomatoes! I had a set number of hens I wanted (5), went over by a few once and regretted it - cost more to feed them, they picked on each other, the biggest eaters were the least productive, cleanup was more intensive. Chicken forums always talk about 'chicken math' and how you want 5 but..... I learned to stick to my number - with chickens. With any other vegie in the garden, I stick to my number. I read these tomato threads and numbers get tossed aside in the hopes of coming across that 'holy grail' of tomatoes in my garden. I will admit, it has paid off with tomatoes that are for sure must grows every year.

Same!!!! (Except chickens aren't my thing ) I am constantly looking for new varieties (my latest one is Micheals Portuguese Monster) and I have such limited space! My plans are always bigger than my space!

I finally sat down with my tomato list and added up my varieties to approximately 101! This is an approximation though because I am bad about not updating ASAP when I get rid of or obtain varieties. Some are varieties I'm planning to rehome, and some varieties have only very few seed to them. I made sure I didn't count doubles because on my list I also keep years and origination written down. Pretty much 85% of my tomato seed is in the freezer because I simply don't have the space to plant all of them every year and I prefer to keep the germination rate good in case I want to trade with them.

I will be adding to that list soon..@TomatoNut95 ..then you will have more to go through..I dont put mine in the feezer but there in a container away from everything. I have the room I just need to really find what works best and stick to it..

Well then it's good I started a 3rd page on my list. . I 'try' to stick with what I like it's just that a lot of my stuff I haven't tried yet. This year I'll be trying to push my summer crop so I'll have time to squeeze in a fall group of tomatoes.

Here's the pics of my German Queen's blossoms. This plant wont get much taller thanks to the insulation board falling and breaking the top off.
So if I want a big fruit, should I pinch off some of the smaller buds so that the energy goes into the larger ones?

@TomatoNut95 I’ve had indeterminate tomatoes somehow lose their one and only mainstem well after I had already transplanted them into the beds and yet come through in the end. “Aussie” the big red tomato did this very thing last year, I don’t even know what happened, but there was one day no growing mainstem. However, the plant did in some few days generate a new growth tip and go on to get huge and produce some large tomatoes.

Made some final changes to the line up as I was able to get my hands on some long sought after seeds. Then I added more cherries to trial later in the season. The revisions are in red.

I started Main Group 1 two weeks ago, and germination has been good. I hope to transplant in late April/early May into Earthboxes on pavement at our shop. Extra sunny and warm there.

It's time to transplant the early group into their final pots. I hope to do a few after work this evening.

I will start Main Group 2 in mid-late April. I hope transplant in my yard Memorial Day weekend.
