Considering the comments about squirrels on here, just had to laugh at that can. Can't se it being a success on the sales front Down Under.

My culture growing up everyone ate squirrel.
I'm not talking about hillbillies I'm talking about practically everyone.
The kid I went hunting with his Mom and Dad were the school principal and teacher.
There were squirrel dogs trained to tree squirrels.
I guess the easy access to food these days has put eating wild game on the back burner.
At one time when things were scarce or too expensive squirrel was on the menu.
My wife never ate squirrel until she married me.
As a matter of fact I would never marry anyone that wouldn't eat catfish or squirrel.
And remember this before y'all laugh at the expense of my beloved culture.
Squirrel is 100% organic non GMO free range cage free no antibiotics no preservatives etc etc.
Us hill folks have been a step ahead of everyone for years.
So step on over to the wild side.
Eat more squirrel.

red squirrels are the predominate critter here. not the best table fare. i looked them up.
plus they are on the small side except for the pork chops raiding the bird feeders. some gray squirrels
are here too, but red squirrels is what you will see in the immediate area most often. small but, feisty.
they would be last resort eating for me. i looked up woodchuck too last year when one helped itself to our
garden.

We have Fox squirrel and grey squirrel.
Some weird black ones up north of me known as hill Country rock squirrels.
And an occasional white squirrel.
Lord only knows what else.
When it comes to squirrels Texas has it covered.
Probably because of all the pecan trees.

this is the story of "someone stole our ambulance"

rick is a guy i have known since 1998 when we moved to da U.P.
he is or was a long time paramedic. he has been coming to my church lately.
last sunday at the meal after service, he was sitting next to brother petio, a doctor
across from me at the table. they were swapping stories from the job.

one day, rick and his emt partner annette brought a patient to a local hospital. they went in
and were helping out with triaging in the er. when they came out later, their rig was gone.
annette said someone stole our ambulance, someone stole our ambulance!
rick, has a calm demeanor. he also has the ability to think things through. he said, who's going to steal
an ambulance. its got to be near by. check the video camera that he knew the hospital had. roll it back
a half hour. they looked at the video, and saw the ambulance rolling down the drive way of the hospital,
negotiate a curve all by itself, and roll out into the road. the rig had not been put into park. they went out
looking for it. it had rolled down a ravine, they could see tail lights down by a persons house where it had come to a stop.
they knocked on the home owners door, and asked if they could go around back. the person said yes, he had heard a loud
bang a short while ago. now, just a couple days later, a paramedic came by the pharmacy to pick up a script. do you know rick,
i asked him? oh, yeah, he knew him. rick sure has some stories i said. the paramedic said, yeah he does, you just aren't sure
what stories to believe or not. how about the stolen ambulance i asked? the paramedic burst out laughing. oh, that one is
true. he said annette was jerking her head around, looking up in the air. she couldn't believe the ambulance was gone.

As I was pulling the great orange carrot beast from the soil it fought hard to stay in it's den then suddenly it let go and I fell upon the cactus.

That chocolate cake is still haunting me.
I'll go to bed thinking about it.

I think they were playing Roundabout at the junior senior banquet and prom when the moonshiners boys the Brinkley's showed up and beat the devil out of the highschool principal.
That shut the prom down.
It's seems there was a family feud going on.
It was in McAlester Oklahoma about 60 miles from my house.
I get home early and my parents asked about the prom.
I told them the Brinkley's beat up the principal and the school superintendent and several coaches and they shut the prom down.
None of the Brinkley's went to school and my friends sister took one as her date to get them in the door.
The great prom brawl of 1977.
It was worth every penny of it.
