Gernika Pepper
Anyone grown this? I did a search here and came up with nothing. Supposed to be in the vein of a bigger Padron.

I’ve got two starter cells with Gernika seeds planted December 31st. I might plant more soon if there’s positive feedback.

Well, if they are anything like Padron's I know I will be a big fan.
Might have to try these next season myself. Assuming Txorixero are the same pepper, which it sounds like they may be.

If I'm not mistaken, they're a variety of shishito pepper. I've grown them, but for me they didn't do as well as other varieties of shishitos, like Mellow Star or Takara, or even just plain Shishito.

Re: Gernika Pepper
Txoritxero/Chorizero are paprika red peppers ( to make chorizo with, thats why).
Gernikas I thought were green similar to Padron and Shishito.
But probably there is a chorizero from gernika.
@karstopography where did you get them from?

Bunny Hop Seeds started carrying it this year. She also has a good description of it.

Re: Gernika Pepper
I wonder how Gernika will fare in warmer weather? From what I can tell, the Basque region isn’t exactly known for being especially warm.
I’m still learning how pepper’s perform in my area. Sweet peppers in general tend to do pretty well later in spring and then fade some in the summer with some potential rejuvenation in the fall. Hot peppers come on strong later and more or less thrive in the hotter weather.
Aji peppers, jalapeños, poblanos, Anaheims, pepperocini, cayenne, serrano, hot banana, etc. are the most hot weather tolerant. Bell peppers, Jimmy Nardellos, Gypsy, Carmen, and other sweet or near sweet are the least.

It's back now! Maybe that was just a weird way of labeling "down time", while someone was working of some software, or something.
