Nizami?

I have seeds for this variety from Marsha (Ginger2778), and wonder if anyone has more information about it. I know that Marsha has described it as a delicious Russian orange heart. I'm curious about its origin, dtm, height, and anything else anybody knows about it. Searches on the internet have led to absolutely nothing, so I wonder if the spelling is correct.

It's Georgian and a good description is on this Russian site. It can be a really interesting tomato.

There is a thread on a Russian tomato forum dedicated to Nizami

The link looks strange, but works for me.

Marsha's seeds were from Carolyn who originally received them from Marina in Russia. Perhaps you can ask Marina in Russia about them on TV as well as Marsha here.

That's a very nice thread dorota. Thank you.

My seeds were from my friend Natalya, a A lovely Russian lady on Facebook. A lady named Shelley also gave me some. They had nothing to do with Carolyn, or Marina, at least not directly. Here they are. I loved them, Karen thought they were nothing special, and as orange hearts go, I slightly preferred Heart of Ashgabat. Here's Nizami

Oh I'm sorry. I searched Nizami and found a thread where Carolyn went looking to send some of these seeds for you to grow that season.

Looks like a pretty orange heart, how was the flavors?
Together, trees make an ecosystem that tempers the extremes of heat & cold, stores lots of water, & makes a lot of humidity. In this environment, trees can live to be very old. To get to this point, the community must remain intact no matter what.

Those look really meaty and juicy! I wonder how they would compare with Queen Marbena?

I grew them both last season. I liked Nizami quite a bit more. (I hope Clara isn't mad at me, lol!)

Balanced , meaty yet juicy, taste about a 7.5 early, an 8 later in the season.

Nah, she's too cool! But now I really have to try Nizami -- loved Queen Marbena last season, higher praise is really something! And the list of current season must grows keep growing .........

Marsha, do you have a source for seeds for Nizami? I tried a quick search, but no luck.

imp , I saved some seed from Nizami last year and will put a SASE offer up this evening after I get a chance to see how much I have to spare and what other varieties I can offer.

Thank you both, I think it would be a good one to grow. I like the hearts and the deeper orange tomatoes a lot, well, okay, I like a whole lot of tomatoes, LOL!!!
