Spencer and Queen Aliquippa. Recommended by Lucky Gardener on YouTube, so I'm really looking forward to them.

Sweet Cherriette. From Adaptive Seeds, currant tomato looks like its similar to Florida Everglade but more productive.

Clear Pink. Early determinate, supposedly.

I started these quite late in early August. First frost date could be mid-Oct, but given the unnatural warm season this year, and how quick they are taking off with the warm weather, I'm quite positive to get ripen fruits before the freeze come. I bagged the unopened blossoms with organza bag.

This is quite interesting how fast they grow in the middle of the season compared to when it's cooler. Starting next year I will start a second batch of tomato seedling in mid-July so I can have two seasons of tomatoes in one year.

I grew a Fatima tomato plant and one of the tomatoes was 2 pounds. It looked like several tomatoes fused together. I saved seeds from the larger tomato. The rest of the tomatoes were the correct size, color and shape on the same plant.

When I send in these seeds, do they have to go under an experimental category? I don’t know if growing them out will produce a normal Fatima tomato or larger misshaped tomatoes. Please advise.

I assume there is a technical term for when multiple tomatoes fuse together, but I am not sure what the term is.

No special listing requirements for it.

Perhaps an expert can chime in on whether continued selecting for fused blossomed fruit might produce more fused blossom fruit in the future. I would expect to get what your current plant is producing, unless there was cross pollinating going on.

One odd thing about fused blossom fruit is that one part can get cross pollinated, while another part may or may not get cross pollinated. Such an occurrence is very rare, though.

Continued selection for fused blossoms does result in plants producing more fused fruits than normal. That is how selection is made for the competition tomatoes. The world record holder is Dan Sutherland and he has been growing his own strain of Domingo for years and only selecting seed from tomatoes produced from mega blooms. His plants now produce mega blooms on every truss as all good competition tomatoes should.

I bagged up 35 small zip bags of saved Domingo seeds yesterday. Each bag has no less than five seeds, most have six or seven seeds each, perhaps a few have up to ten or twelve seeds each. Every bag has a paper label inside. Most of the zip bags are 1.5” x 1.5”. I found the 1”x1” too time consuming and difficult to work with.

I’ve still got to bag up Mega Marv. I might have a similar amount of seeds for that one as compared to Domingo.

I’ve bagged up smaller quantities, mostly in the teens for bag count and each small bag has at least five seeds, of individually labeled Carbon, Dester, True Black Brandywine, and Persimmon.

I’ve got some 2”x 3” zip bags incoming for bean and okra seeds. I’ve got Sea Island Red Okra pods in quanity out on the plants maturing. Plan is to bag up those seeds once they dry in the pods in the 2” x3” bags. I’ve got far too many Maxibel bush bean seeds and some will get bagged in the 2”x3” bags.

I’ve bagged up a few small zip bags with my Lemongrass seeds. I’ve got more lemongrass seeds to bag if desired , but wasn’t sure of the demand for Lemongrass seed.

Some random mostly saved Pink Zinnia seeds got bagged up into small zip bags yesterday. Perhaps fifty or seventy seeds per bag.

I could bag up some saved french marigold seeds if anyone cares about those.

Once okra is dried and bagged I think that will be the final task.

Coyote seed is a little blonde cherry tomato from Veracruz Mexico. I haven’t saved any yet, but I can. Coyote is still producing tomatoes so I have the seed source.

Is the Coyote seed a bean?

I squeezed out about 15 ripe coyote tomatoes for the seed. They are in a shot glass beginning their fermentation. I’ll dry them once they are done and include them in my shipment to New England.

Spent more time packaging up some seeds, sunflowers and peppers this time around. At least 5 seeds per small pack. The times sign indicates how many packs per variety. Trying to systematically go through my seed collection and pack up surplus and or getting close to expiration date, based on seed viability tables online. All these sunflowers and peppers are from commercial seed vendors.

I just came back from a walk in my neighborhood, and brought back a very healthy-sized bag of Joe Pye Weed seed. I would be happy to send nearly the entire bag for any attempts at growing it. I could even go back and collect bags and bags of more fresh seed. I have also had years of poor results at purposeful germination, but my sister has it springing up in her gravel driveway like a weed. So, it can be grown. And, it is an excellent pollinator attractor.
