The second paragraph says it all.Rajun Gardener wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 9:49 am
What's everyone's thoughts on this conversation?
User Ignore MOD
"I've been searching for this for quite a while and yet was unable to find. The problem with the community I manage is that it is quite glued together. Those annoying users behave badly on most parts of the forum, but they are cherished and, as far I can see, important among other parts of the board."
Reply..."Making a MOD like this one shouldn't be a problem for regular MOD writers. But trust me, this is not a solution. You put the user in the ignore list and you solve the issue for yourself, but you can't expect everyone to put annoying users in the foes list.
You explained the situation quite well, but rules are rules and I assume your board has rules. If they are breaking them, there shouldn't be an exception to the rules just because they do something good in the other part of the community. This usually leads to a scattered community, because the ones who deserve a warn/ban don't get it, while someone else receives a warn/ban because of a minor issue. People hate inequality. So, treat everyone equally and no one will be mad for your actions and no chains will break, maybe the majority will be even be thankful for banning those abusers! Having a community where rules are ignored or no rules are present, think again, you don't want that..."
I think the troublemakers have to go. A warning should be issued and if they cannot play nice, they need to be banned. All that nastiness caused good people to leave TV so that it became a mere shadow of itself. We all saw what happened in the end because moderators did not do their job!

I also added the Media upload button to the top menu bar in full editor. There's two ways to add a YouTube video.
You paste the whole link and that makes it easy.
1. Click the media button and insert the link in the middle.
2. paste the link, hold a left click to highlight it then click media.

Re: site set up
I wasn't thinking of using the Ignore as a replacement for a warning or banning. Before the behavior gets that bad, though, maybe an Ignore can come into play. The anatomy of an argument is this way: person1 says something person2 takes exception to. Words are exchanged that are initially civil, then begin to turn hostile. At this point, the wise person will stop arguing, before any warnable or banishable offense has taken place. Enter the Ignore button.
However, if this doesn't sound like a good idea, I bow to those with more experience.

You can do that(ingore) in your profile, mark them as Foes. Someone brought that up earlier.Nan6b wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 6:37 pm I wasn't thinking of using the Ignore as a replacement for a warning or banning. Did everyone see the Google translation tab in the header? Go play with it, it's fun to see the different languages. Technology is amazing!!!
I copied all those from Goggle, if some are missing let me.

When the little bird on the left turns black and there are no multiple page buttons on the right it is impulsive for me to open that section with my phone.
the section gets lighter but it refuses to open.
This is driving me nuts.

It's easy to see the OP if you use the "New Post" button in the drop down menu in the "Quick Links" above the "Home" button under the header. It sounds like too much but it's two clicks, click quick links then click new post.
Let me know if this helps.

Another thank You to Rajun Gardener for a new home. The more I read, the more I like it. I think I might have already been here but had to re-register. This website startup makes me think of Spring. A new beginning for everyone.

Re: site set up
Rajun, this is so awesome! I hate to ask for one more thing, but could we have a subforum for Garlic and Onions? It was one of the best parts of the old T'ville - such a great group of allium growers. I had a look around the internet for garlic forums and there isn't anything that comes close. No rush, but whenever you have time it would be a great thing to add.
