Happy Solstice everyone!
Well here we are, the days are not getting any shorter!! No matter where you are in the world, or how short your days get, it's a special moment.
We're down to I think 7 hours 33 minutes here, so there's not a lot of daylight hours, but of course some folks have even shorter. No matter. This is one thing we share with every animal and plant, the joy that the daylight is no longer shrinking and is going to push back the other way.
Wishing you all a safe winter and a great gardening season - and for those in the southern hemisphere, a joyous long day and a safe summer! We're white with a few cm of snow, and here's a little moose that came through my garden this morning while I was drinking coffee.

Finally it's here!!!
WOW, 7.5 hours of daylight and I complain here. I just checked Day length today: 10h 11m 52s. That would take some getting used to.

And none too soon! We had an awfully stormy few days this week when Thursday seemed to get dark at 3:00 that day along with the high winds lashing rain sideways as I walked to an appointment in town-YUCK!.
Happy Solstice indeed.

What's a solstice?
How much are they and where can I get one.

Anybody that has spent any time at all living at or above the arctic circle is more than happy for the winter event.
