71° for the high. Picture perfect weather today after some rough weather nearby yesterday, the really bad stuff that all slipped by us to the north 20 miles or so.
76° tomorrow, more sun. Very benign weather, except for these episodes of tornadoes, hopefully that are done for a while.

Yes we had another huge storm yesterday morning.
A much welcomed rain for sure.

It's coming down hard now - so hard, it sounds like hail hitting the house, but it's just rain. Still 63° at 10:30 pm. Supposed to go through quickly, so it will be gone when I have to go out early.

Another picture perfect day here. 72°, cloudless sky. The most delightful breeze is blowing through the pines. Crows going caw, caw, caw. Sandhill cranes trilling overhead. It’s more than enough to be just sitting outside and soaking it all in. Dog is also enjoying the weather. Glad 2024 is ending on such a high note.

A couple of days in the low 20sC/say73F to start the new year before warming up to 38 or 39C /100F over the weekend then back into the low 20$ for Monday with a bit of rain hopefully.

Thunder already, with the heavy stuff coming later. Those that went out for those early light shows were spared, but it was shortly after that it started.

New Years Eve is traditionally nasty here (below freezing, windchills, snow etc), so the plus 3C is kind of nice.

44° this morning, pretty normal. Going to 61°, also about average. Sun is out. Slight warming trend the rest of the week. Next week looks to be much cooler.

Risk of freezing weather for way down south going up this coming week. Frigid weather on tap for up north. It’s winter.

50 to 60 mph wind gusts expected tonight. I've got a penlight in my shirt pocket. If the electricity goes out, I then find my way to the battery powered area lamps.

Now in the above post, it must be understood that, at this time of the year, the living room and bedroom floors are covered with containers of seeds, that shift from place to place throughout the day, my never remembering exactly where everything is at any time. If the lights went out, without a flashlight at hand, I'd be tripping (and this isn't the 60s in southern California).

I try to stick to the 'light in pocket' rule whenever there's any kind of wild weather.
Discovered how much fun it is to search for a flashlight when the power is gone.

Re: How's your weather?
I spent a few years looking for an inexpensive pocket pen light. WalMart has a 2 AAA battery LED one (RAYOVAC brand) for about $9. It's exactly what I was looking for. I have an older single AAA battery one, but it has an under 2 hour run time. The double battery one (runs for about 7 hours) is much longer, at about 5", but the top of the pocket clip is at 4".

snowed from morning till a few minutes ago. the sun is now trying to shine through
cloud cover. there is a small, small patch of blue sky. it is cold. temp in the teens with
a negative wind chill. just have to dress for the weather, and its not so bad.
one to three inches of snow are predicted.
flash lights
my wife got a nebo rechargeable flash light from some where. bright as all get out.
it also has a pretty sharp blade on it so duo purpose i suppose.

Gary, USPS tracking shows my package was delivered Thursday afternoon 1/2/25. It is a shirt sized brown cardboard box. I hope it didn't blow off your porch into the hinterlands. Happens all the time here at my place. Maybe a little sluething in the bushes could turn something up..
Your item was delivered at the front door or porch at 3:29 pm on January 2, 2025 in WESTFIELD, MA 01085.

Re: How's your weather?
I used to have a couple of tiny lapel clip lights. Too easy to clip it on and forget it, winter evenings, and never think about it unless the lights went. Unfortunately they were dollar store merch and didn't have a long lifespan. It was a great design, which I'd love to see done properly with a clip that isn't prone to break and a rechargeable battery. I have lots of brighter ones now, but they all require a pocket. The lapel was just right for finding brighter lights you didn't want to lug around.
Anyhoo I'll be needing one tonight as the storm arrives here, snow to rain event but mostly rain 30-50 mm and howling NE winds gusting up to 120 kph per the forecast.
Presently sunny with a thick frost on the ground. Gonna get some laundry on the line.

Re: How's your weather?
I have a headlamp for these times, and it works really well! I can see where I'm going as I run my snow blower at night, knowing that if I leave it until morning there will be too much snow for the machine to handle. Little helps go a long way.
As for the weather here, well, I'll let the picture speak for itself. Wind chills are scheduled in the subzero range for the next few days. I feel sorry for person and beast stuck out in this! One lady who comes to the food pantry is living in her car with two kids. I cannot imagine
