Was on the computer earlier, but pulled it up on my phone now. The site looks great on my iPhone, that’s great!

Off topic is great, but I really liked Mischka's approach to NO politics/religion.rxkeith wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 8:13 pm mixed feeling about this subject,
do you want to have an off topic forum.
we had some great threads off topic on the ville,
but, but, but,
off topic is also where a lot of contention originated
not a front burner issue, just something to consider down the line
once everything is set up, and running smooth.

BUT BUT BUT===NO BUTS... NO POLITICS OR RELIGION. I'm not saying you can't reference either but you have to be sensitive of what you post. These are things we'll figure out.
We will all decide on the forum rules, meaning we will all agree to logical and thoughtful behavior.
I'll start a thread in a few days to get feedback for forum rules and we'll go from there. If anyone doesn't want to post it in public then shoot me a PM.
We can make this an easy going site without having to deal with issues, I'm not a dictator and will not be the one enforcing rules which leads to the next TOPIC=MODERATORS.
I want your votes/volunteers for moderators, you guys have known each other longer than I've been here and I think it's only fair for you to decide who the Mods are. If nobody wants to be a Mod, I understand and I'll take that job alone. But we will follow the rules we all set. Let me say that again. Ya'll will set the rules and I'll drop the hammer, period.
I'm not ranting, just letting everyone know where I stand. I don't plan to be noticed anymore than I was on tomatoville.com. I'll do my thing like everyone else. just enjoy good company, talk gardening and of course eating!!!
I want everyone to feel like they have a stake in this site, this isn't about me, it's about our love for tomatoes and our community.
Think about it and respond when the thread is posted, Thanks everyone!!!
And I'm always open to suggestions to make it better, just let me know.

I wonder if we could have a specific Dwarf Project Thread as well as a Micro thread in The Cross Talk Development section?

Thank you for everything Rajun. You’ve been so busy today. You got this up fast!
To those in the know, am I reading this correctly and the links are being deliberately zapped at TV? I had assumed it was a glitch from the host site.

I was going to make a post about one thing I liked about the old site was that there was zero tolerance for politics. I don't want to know how anyone else here votes. Let's just all be friends and not argue.rxkeith wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 8:13 pm mixed feeling about this subject,

But on the other hand, I would like to be able to talk about the hemp growing I am doing. I also really enjoyed the threads Worth would make about his projects (someone please invite Worth here). Rajun, you are one heck of a cook, from what I can gather. I would like to be able to learn from you in that regard. Off subject threads and topics can bring us all together and make a stronger community, as long as we leave out politics.

Re: site set up
Thank you a million times over for starting this forum, Rajun. I am happy to agree to no religion and no politics. I also think an Ignore procedure would be good, for members having trouble with one another. It gives one a peaceable alternative when conflicts arise. I also like the idea of the off-topic area because: 1.) otherwise, I bet the other areas will be cluttered with off-topic posts, and 2.) the Cheap Eatin' thread was the best! We also probably need an area for preserving & cooking topics.

Hello Nan!
I searched for an "Ignore: add-on but there's none.
What's everyone's thoughts on this conversation?
User Ignore MOD
"I've been searching for this for quite a while and yet was unable to find. The problem with the community I manage is that it is quite glued together. Those annoying users behave badly on most parts of the forum, but they are cherished and, as far I can see, important among other parts of the board."
Reply..."Making a MOD like this one shouldn't be a problem for regular MOD writers. But trust me, this is not a solution. You put the user in the ignore list and you solve the issue for yourself, but you can't expect everyone to put annoying users in the foes list.
You explained the situation quite well, but rules are rules and I assume your board has rules. If they are breaking them, there shouldn't be an exception to the rules just because they do something good in the other part of the community. This usually leads to a scattered community, because the ones who deserve a warn/ban don't get it, while someone else receives a warn/ban because of a minor issue. People hate inequality. So, treat everyone equally and no one will be mad for your actions and no chains will break, maybe the majority will be even be thankful for banning those abusers! Having a community where rules are ignored or no rules are present, think again, you don't want that..."

I would like to see a sale/coupon code/good vendor area if that would be ok. I appreciate all the hard work you are putting into building the site and keeping everyone together.
Everything here looks great so far. Thanks again!

Isn't this covered in each members profile section under Friends or Foes, as far as the ability to ignore certain users?Rajun Gardener wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 9:49 am Hello Nan!

If you "edit" your profile, you should see the "Friends or Foes" folder...
