Re: Who's participating in 2024/2025?
I'd love to participate this year as well. I am also coming from Jen/Lauren TLC group. I should be able to contribute several varieties. I am digging through the posts to find a summary of the instructions. From what I gather the rules are pretty loose. Send in what you can, get back a bit of a mystery in return with some effort to fill the wish list items. Minimum 5 seeds per baggie? Is there a suggested minimum number of seeds per variety?
Is there an instruction post somewhere that I have missed?
Thanks,
speechdevil

The rules are non-existent, other than sending me a legible return address, return postage and a wish list of up to 20 varieties, and also types (the Categories) of tomatoes. Beyond tomatoes, you'll have to read through the various MMMM threads.speechdevil wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 1:46 pm I'd love to participate this year as well. I assume you mean minimum number of packs of a variety?
It depends on how much effort you want to put into it, and how many seeds that you can spare. I like to receive 10 packs of a variety, so that I don't have to worry about running out. This year is different, with perhaps almost twice as many participants joining. So, I hope many people will send in 20 packs of a variety (100 seeds will be needed).
And, that is just for "average" varieties. If someone has something extremely rare, basically unknown to the heirloom tomato community, it would be nice to receive 50 to 100 packs. This is usually done by those who have an old family heirloom, and want to it to be sent out far and wide. In any case, I would like participants to PM me the variety, before they decide to make up that many packs. There is a chance that the variety has already been widely distributed by the swap.

Mine are on the way! You should have them in 3 days, Post Office time. And thanks for all that you do!

And, a big help would be to list where and who you are, in abbreviations, to cross reference against your user name. As an example, I am WI SC P. Those are abbreviations for state/last name/first name.

The 2024 Secret Santa Seed Swap has been posted on Houzz !Tormato wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 7:41 amEarliest of November would be best for me.ranegrow wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 7:33 pmGary, I can post the Secret Santa swap and ask everyone to post their wish lists earlier if it would help you ! when would be early enough ? mid - late November ?Tormato wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 9:01 amIf the Houzz Secret Santa Swap is happening, I'm hoping that wish lists can be posted much earlier. The MMMM is going to keep me extremely busy, and for me to participate there (a complete failure last year), early wish lists would be a great help (just like with this swap )

Re: Who's participating in 2024/2025?
Update/correction -- I've decided not to participate in the swap this year, other than to send in one variety on Gary's return request card from the 2022 MMMM. This is a one-way trip only, don't want anything in return. Thanks and good luck! VA Wu LSeven Bends wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 8:27 pm Probably yes.
