Terrible destruction from Helene playing out. I feel pity for those in the path.
Meanwhile, 63° and beautiful here. Dry air heats up easily so 89° for the high today and all sunshine. Similar weather conditions for the next few days here.

Re: How's your weather?
It's started raining here in the last 10 min.; the walks and everything was wet, from the dew and the fog earlier, and I went out to get an Amazon package, and it wasn't raining yet, but it's finally started now. I'll see if it registers on the rain gauge. Every day is about the same - cloudy, humid, with scattered showers, getting a little cooler in a few days.

Re: How's your weather?
Only small debris and a couple of roof shingles to clean up for me.
Noisy as all hell overnight. Power went out at midnight and came back at about 8:15, so not bad.
Many trees down though, and many affected worse than I was.

Re: How's your weather?
@GoDawgs area was hit hard. Serious wind damage and a lot of deaths in Georgia due to trees crashing down.
Hope you are safe, and generator working, and staying put until they come to repair the power lines.

@friedgreen51 They're saying that the rain you got before Helene was a 'thousand year' event... oh, wow.
Hope you're high and dry and not having to evacuate or go anywhere until the water subsides.

Absolutely gorgeous weather here, aiming for a top of 24C/75F today. A bit of rain forecast overnight, most likely around quarter of an inch with scattered showers for the next couple of days.

Re: How's your weather?
It's a little wetter out there, from that little bit of rain I've been getting the last few days, but it has barely gotten to a quarter of an inch - .16", .02", .04", and overnight, .06", with a mist still, from 98% humidity. Next 4 days are still wet, at times, but still not much predicted. Temperature is staying in the low 70s, and not getting real cool overnight.

It's still summer! I'd really prefer to enjoy some Fall before winter sets in and the snow starts to fly! Sheesh. But it's a lovely day.

Totally fall here with the neverending drizzle and temperatures below 60F. One of my pea plants finally put out a flower two days ago. Still hanging there wondering if a pea is possible. So it goes.

Re: How's your weather?
We were quite fortunate in central North Carolina where I live. Another 3 1/2 inches of rain on Friday when Helene passed by. Wind gusts up to 40 mph. Just east of us an EF-3 tornado touched down with lots of damage. We had lots of limbs down, our neighbors crawl space was flooded and the small stream below our house was way out of its banks. No damage to our house.
Western North Carolina on the other hand had devastating flooding. No cell phone as of today in Buncombe County where Asheville, NC is located, 14 inches of rain, no power, no gas can be pumped. No grocery stores open. 30 people dead in just this one county. Yancey County, NC where Mount Mitchell is located (highest peak east of the Mississippi) recorded over 30 inches of rain and wind gusts of 106 mph. Supplies are being air-lifted into Asheville, NC as almost every road is impacted. Parts of I-40, and I-26 are closed. People are really suffering in this part of the state.

There was frost on our lawn this morning. Winter is slowly creeping in.

It’s still summer here thankfully tomorrow is scheduled to be more like fall. I’m melting in this 80 stuff and just grateful it’s not humid on top of it! Ugh.

Re: How's your weather?
Records still being set here, temperatures at least 10 degrees warmer than usual. 94˚ yesterday, dropping to 77˚ today, setting record highs on Thursday(94˚) and Saturday(92˚). Fortunately it cools down to 50˚ in the morning, allowing the whole house fan to bring in cool, dry air. Aspens are changing colors late this year.

Re: How's your weather?
Let there be light! We have had about 8 days without sunlight, but less than a quarter inch of rain, at least in my area - even less in other areas. Yesterday, there was a hint of sunlight, but only brief. The humidity was lower, finally, but still a little high. Temp only 71°, and only in the mid to low 60s at night.
