I'll have to look today. Yesterday's models showed it going almost straight north up the Mississippi River. And the typical modeling, as it stops at a non-physical border (Canada).

Seems like the current models are pretty consistent, landfall mid Louisiana coast and a ride up the Mississippi River to about the Arkansas-Missouri-Tennessee-Kentucky border. Then the models get squirrely after that with sharp angled turns and loops and movements that don’t reflect reality. Maybe that’s how it will play out, but I believe the models haven’t latched onto anything definite yet.

Earlier, I saw the black line model (best guess?) going into New England at the Vermont border just above Mass.

Now, that same model has it going into Pennsylvania.

Our State Fair begins on Friday, so that's always an invitation for the rest of the country to send us their wet weather.

It dipped down to 58 this morning! Kept the windows open last night for some nice sleeping air.

Rumor has it that we might get some rain from some of Francine's outer bands on Thursday and Friday. I hope so. Dances With Hoses can use a day off. But as usual I'll believe it when I see it.

That's about what it got to here this morning, about 6° higher than yesterday morning, and it went higher, much faster. It was up to 65° by 8:30 am this morning, when I went to Aldi's, which I delayed a day, because it wasn't warming up fast enough yesterday! It got to 82° today, but fortunately, very little humidity again. And maybe 1 or 2° higher, each day, as the week goes on. Eventually, the AC will come on, after the house warms up, after I close it up in the morning, with the cool air, though today I don't think it did come on yet.

It's dreary and calm out there. The radar shows light green that looks like outer bands from Francine over us. The back porch is wet but there's nothing in the rain gauge yet. The local weather forecast has pushed rain back again... not much today.

Seems to be risk of frost week here - none yet from the clear nights/temperature inversion while days were sunny and warm. But today it's dreary and rainy and cold, below 50C out at present, and the high tomorrow is only low 50's with a risk of frost overnight.
Doesn't matter that the highs will bounce back into the 70's or low 80's here on Tuesday. The signal for fall is in the air, and that's okay.
Already those nights that dipped into low 40's or 30's have given the cues that plants and insects are waiting for. Worker bees vanished.. the only bees I saw out today and yesterday looked to be boy bees - no pockets, just out for a drink. So they are getting ready for next year's brood. I've been waiting for the workers to be done before I cut down anything they're feeding on, which I must do to prep for garlic beds. The cycle continues...

By golly @habitat-gardener I did the same thing, started a month late and it made a huge difference, that the most stressful weather (July) wasn't also 'ripening my fruit' time with the stress that puts on the plants. Looking forward to your thread!

I got a lot done during the last few days in the 80s, but today was 90F and it felt too hot to go out, especially since next week's forecast is for highs in the 70s and 80s.

We hauled away most of the volunteer sunflowers at the community garden, which attract rats once they go to seed. I left one gloriously blooming plant, but I will need to keep an eye on it and trim flower heads as they fade (that gardener is out of town for another month). My partner took on the challenge of removing a few dozen sunflower plants from one plot; most plots with sunflowers had a couple at most. I still have one in my plot, but I keep it pruned. When the landscape guy was bulldozing the untended compost heap, a huge rat leapt out! About 5 years ago, we had such a big rat problem in the community gardens that there was talk of hiring a rat-eradication service that uses rat terriers. One of the biggest problems at the time was a chicken coop in the garden -- rats lived under it and ate the chicken feed, then reproduced and started eating garden produce. The coop is long gone!

Day 36 of no measurable rain. It was misty a few times yesterday but nothing in the gauge so that doesn't count. The forecast for the next week is the same old same old. Possible spotty showers and breezy but highs around 80. There's a mess off the SC coast that might bring us some rain next week,

And here I was feeling sorry for myself because we're on day 15 without any rain! They're predicting rain Monday night through Tuesday night here, possibly heavy, then chance of showers every day for the rest of the week. Not sure where it's supposed to be coming from; there's not much happening on the map right now. Fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

87 percent of Virginia is in some stage of abnormally dry/drought.
69 percent of Georgia is in some stage of drought.
60 percent of Texas, ditto.

We aren’t in a dry zone, but it’s not rained (thank goodness) much recently. I’m back to watering the seedlings at least to get them through the heat of the burning afternoon sun.

I started tapping my portable a/c in the bedroom for water in the dehumidifier mode.
Since it is so humid I get 5 gals per day for the garden.
Bedroom temp drops down to 62 so I have to get up at night to tinkle,and make sure I'm not just dreaming.

The garden isn't distressed,but I want to avoid BER on the precious plants that are left.

There may have been first night of frost in our country side garden. Here in the city it did not get as low, since we are on coast, but +5°C feels chilly. We have had record breaking count of hot summer days this summer (hot is a relative term and here it means +25°C/77°F or above) and such days even in the beginning of September. Now it is cooling down rapidly and forecasted daily highs are on same level as the nigh time lows were a week ago.

I just figured out how to read min/max values on my temperature sensor system. Low went to 3C here last night, but was up to 7C before I was out of bed. No regrets about taking down the outdoor tomatoes last week. Yesterdays high 12C with strong NW winds would not have done any improvement to the fruit - better off ripening in a box.
