Love the pics.

And, I highly recommend cutting cherries in half or smaller, as the whole ones can be choking hazards. Never pop a whole cherry tomato into one's mouth, in front of a very young one.

Good catch; their Mother is VERY attentive, but an ounce of prevention...

The "cherries" are the more (IMO) saladettish Mountain Magic, Taste Test Winner five (5) seasons running in the Jardín del Gotch.

In the last pic, the little one is doing her level best to cram a Lemonboy Plus F1 into her little mouth....and that Pink Magic is the same size as her li'l noggin.

Do I bring up cutting hot dogs lengthwise, before cutting them into medallions? I guess I just did.

And, the young ones are the future. If someone takes an unnamed experimental tomato, and names it after a wee one, will that child grow up to garden, and grow that tomato?

I think you have to feast them with tomatoes, take them on digging parties to harvest potatoes when they can only carry one at a time, and then reel them in again after adolescence, to get a gardener. Confront them with a row of cabbages or something.

What a fabulous photo shoot. Those little girls are adorable. All you need is a pic with the juice running down their chins and seeing if they grin or grimmace.

This is exactly how my grandfather first introduced me and the rest of us to enjoying tomatoes and gardening. Every year he would pass us a freshly picked huge tomato to eat right there in the garden.

At least I can vouch that an early acquaintance with tomatoes seems to lead to a liking of tomatoes. My friends' daughter is a picky eater but tomatoes have not been off the like menu since being pictured in a basket of tomatoes soon after birth.
Seven year olds are great taste testers.
My other friends' son picked out and commented my favorite tomato this season as great tasting, from a plate of slices.
I fed them BLT's too, Gotch. What is bacon for?

@bower Completely agree with the early intro, I think you’ll appreciate this irony though… Oldest daughter has had serious some pretty solid eczema and allergy issues since a young age. When she was old enough we took her in for an allergy test.
They did the grid on her back, see what she reacted to etc. and the two foods she was allergic to were tomatoes and bananas the thing I love growing the most and the thing that naturally grows here the best.

Oh well, what can you do, laugh it off and carry on, someone up there’s got a sense of humor, that’s for sure.

was working on. nice touch.
yup, start them young. i went through a phase when i was young where i didnt like tomatoes. GASP!!!
wait a few years before you have them help you at seed starting time.
