I hope to participate but it will depend on how I'm feeling at that time. I have seeds that I harvested last year but wasn't feeling up to packaging and sending in and am saving seeds this year. At the very least, I'll send you the Flamingo seeds (that we talked about) for you to grow.

I am participating sending in flowers, tomatoes and beans. However, I am going to participate in the receiving of just the card that has 15 varieties instead of the larger package. I still have many seeds to plant next year from the newbie package I got this year.

Newbies should be aware, there may be many references to my needing a bigger boat. ;)

ooh, is receiving a card with just 15 varieties an option? I thought the overpacked sausage was not only the default but the only option.
Every year, I look at my tomato jungle and think, I'd be happy with just a few plants. (Hasn't happened yet.)

I am just thinking the same for posting large amounts of seeds to/from the UK to the US.

For non-US participants, sometimes I do bubble mailers, which are getting quite expensive to mail.

If only small seeds are requested, like tomato and pepper, trading is usually done with holiday/greeting cards, or small plain envelopes.

I'll detail more information a bit later, on how to best package thin and light letters, in order to get through the high-speed sorting rollers of the post office, without the seeds getting crushed.

I usually put about 40 packs of seeds per envelope, with one US "Global Forever" stamp, which costs about US $1.65. You will have different stamps, and different rates. Going beyond 40, or so, varieties just means multiple letters, which I usually space in mailing by more than a week apart. There will be an arrival and departure thread to somewhat know the status of mailings. You also will likely have different maximum (and minimum) letter sizes, maximum thicknesses, and maximum weight. You also may not have access for US stamps or cash for return postage. Several of us US participants realize this, and donate for your postage.

As I told Jen, who will be making a video on how to navigate the swap, I don't want anyone stressing over this. Relax, as we have several months to go.

On your end, if you've traded with people from the US, perhaps letting me know how long it takes mail to travel between countries, such info may help me.

A limited mailing has always been an option. There's only been one participant over the many years to do it. Even then, the couple of dozen varieties sent (only about a dozen were requested) was an overload for him.

I'll only believe it after you look through all of the updated Master Lists, coming much later in the year.

Maximum packs of seeds? What a concept. I'll have to try to remember that one.

Jen will be making a video soon on the extremely loose guidelines. I will try to get the info to her, early next week.

Thanks for the update, I the TLC group there is the opportunity to trade for stamps so I have a few international forever stamps which can be sent through.

From/to the UK the fastest I personally have received an envelope was an impressive 4 days but the average seems to be 10—14 days each way. Always been an envelope as you described with a card inside or folded up paper to protect seeds. I have only traded tomato/pepper seeds so far.
