The swap is what YOU want it to be.ValsBackyardHeirlooms wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 4:23 pm I would love to participate- First timer!

I have been reading through the forums and posts. Can someone explain the rules of the wishlist (do we have to make one or can we be surprised?) and what we send in? (how many of each variety, how many per pack, how many packs) I've mostly only done blind swaps before. Thanks for the help!
If there are certain types of tomatoes that you would like, "the categories", list those categories. If there are categories that you do not want, list those. If you'd like anything, write that on you paper wish list that you send in with your seeds.
There's no need to include a send in list, although I'm fine with it. I'm also fine with participants sending in their what they have list (IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER only). It would be appreciated that mostly unknown to the tomato community rare varieties come with a one time description; plant type (indeterminate, determinate, dwarf, micro dwarf, etc...), leaf type, fruit shape/size/color, and maybe the subjective description of flavor.

Don't go starting with the smilies.
There's one participant that plasters them all over his return address. And he knows to send in a pack of Yellow Pear some years.

Lol, you haven't seen smilies until you've witnessed a communication by teenage girls. I have two teenage daughters and they can strain the limits of comprehension when they text. It's worse when they're texting each other or their friends. Its practically a hieroglyphic language. I'm boring by comparison (actually, I have it on good authority that I'm boring regardless of comparison).
We'll have to lobby for a yellow pear tomato emoji. The ultimate in smilies, lol.

Hi, I'd also like to participate this year if possible.
I'm not sure how to abbreviate as I'm not in the States so I'll leave it as Scotland (UK) K W

I'm in Canada and would love to participate if allowed - I'm growing some varieties that may be of interest. So, I'm looking to get a head count, in order to prepare me for this year's swap.
And, a big help would be to list where and who you are, in abbreviations, for me to cross reference against your user name. As an example, I am MA Fi G. Those are abbreviations for state/last name/first name.

I'd be thrilled to participate. Still trying to get the lay of the land & how to use this forum. Do you have a date set so I can set a reminder?

There are some helpful tutorials at the bottom of the home page. If you have any questions just ask.

Hi Gary,
I will be participating. Due to my sister I. Law and I having the same identifying factors for your listing preference.

All Canadians are welcome. Some will tell me that their local post office employees can be rude. So, they travel to the next town over, to mail their packages.Anna_Nitschke wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 2:42 pmI'm in Canada and would love to participate if allowed - I'm growing some varieties that may be of interest. Postage can be quite high for bubble mailer type packages, but necessary when mailing large seeds, like beans. Postage from the US to Canada starts at about US $14 and goes up with the increased weight of a package.
If seeds are small, one option is mailing multiple small relatively flat envelopes. Here, one "global forever" stamp (about US $1.65?) is all it takes for postage.

Re: Who's participating in 2024/2025?
Playing for free (no return postage required) would be any Canadian from...
Stoner, BC
Sober Island, NS (would anyone move from one to the other?)
Crapaud, PEI (what does aud mean?)
Punkydoodles Corner, ON
Bacon Ridge, Manitoba (regular or Canadian bacon?)
Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha!, Quebec (did the Simpson's Nelson Muntz do the naming?)
and last, but certainly not least, Misquito Grizzly Bears Head Lean Man, Saskatchewan
And speaking of Saskatchewan, land of the exploding watermelons when they don't get shaded (Cream of Saskatchewan, been there, done that)...
if a package ever originates in Dildo, Newfoundland, gets rerouted to Climax, Saskatchewan, and then gets sent on to me...the local postal authorities, here, are going to confiscate that package.

I'm returning this year and have already saved seeds and am fermenting tomato seeds. There's a FB group with some members heading your way. I saved seeds from your Swoon and shared them in that group. They were a hit! TN RE R

Been another bad year here but I would still like to play. I may get lucky and have some seeds from Extreme Bush Tomato to share... it is my only tomato plant that has flowered let alone produced tomatoes...
