I was surprised when they showed a similar map of my area recently, and I'm in the gray area, though just below where it turns yellow. Yet my cousin is up in the orange area, and where she lives, there is flooding every time one of these storms comes through.

The rain finally got here at about 9:20 pm, and in just over 20 minutes, I had gotten over half an inch, with a lot more coming. The thunder and lightning stopped, so far, so I'll get back to cutting tomatoes for the dehydrator - have almost 5 trays filled, but I move away from the sink, when there's lightning! Temperature down to 80°, probably lower, and more rain now.

Had 1.5 inches of rain this week, then today I guess Debbie decided to share her gifts and we have had 2.5 inches so far today, and it’s still raining. Now up to 4.55 inches in 7 days.

Nothing close to that here, but it's up to 1.17" tonight, and more to come. The remnants of Debbie haven't even gotten here yet, but another front coming from the west tonight, then every hour the next two days has some rain likely. And 77° and 75° for highs the next two days - that's been the lows lately!

The front has arrived, now a pleasant 76 while it was 96 yesterday with a HI of 102. End of the week will have daytime lows of 81-82. No rain predicted until the 13th. have a lot of garden work planned for today. Lot of catching up to do in this dry spell.

Being on the very northern edge of Debby we've had a total of 1.3" over the past two days. Thankfully we're not in those areas that Debby has just snail-crawled over, dumping a ton of rain.

Enjoying the lower temps! 75 all day yesterday with off and on drizzle. Today still cloudy and it will be mid 80's all day.

I got very little rain after midnight - only .07", so the total was the same as a couple of nights ago: 1.24". Much cooler today, with only 77° forecast high, and a couple of degrees lower Thursday. But humidity very high - 93%, when I went out a couple of hours ago, so 76° didn't feel that great! No rain since I've been up (I don't think?), as it looks like it's all going south of here, until maybe this evening, again.

We aren't in the track of Debby's cone but bands of rain will sweep over on Saturday and/or Sunday nonetheless. She's pretty much covering the whole east coast with streamers already.
Cloudy here today and so much cooler than any day in July! High not much over 70F/21 C, with a breeze. Very nice but feels cool because we've gotten used to being in the 80's. Looks like August will be much tamer temperature wise.

What do you do about the high dewpoints @karstopography . Does a dehumidifier help in the house?

The Air conditioner systems that are pretty ubiquitous here do a very good job removing water vapor out of the air. Pipes, drains take the condensate, water, out of the building and outside. When it’s hot and humid outside, there’s a constant flow of the condensed water vapor flowing from the house. If a house feels wet, there’s something wrong with the system. A too large of Air Conditioning system can lead to a wet, clammy house, but that’s rare to see.

Yes I can dry peppers in my house very well with the AC running.
There's thunder outside as we speak.
I hope it rains too

Dry as a bone here and no clouds. Looks like the rain is missing us to the north and east. It seems like San Antonio has been sitting in the eye of the storm all summer.

Will have to water tomorrow with the hose, only the second time this year. I keep several containers and a barrel of fertilized water that I have been using occasionally. No rain until the 14th. I sure do miss the fronts that used to come through every 3 days or so and brought the gentle showers.

My lunch-time deer are back but they must not have been very hungry, they only ate half the Sweet Potatoes, all the Strawberries and most of the new Cucumber leaves. Never looked at the tomatoes where I could have used the help with pruning that I intend to start tomorrow.

Debby is bringing us just a few showers, not a problem, but I am worried about the higher winds expected overnight, due to having some really large and not quite ripe tomatoes out there, not to mention peppers. Peppers should be easier to support and contain, but hard to know what to do with the tomatoes. If it's windy they're going to knock against each other in some of those clusters where they are free hanging but close. Thinking of EM Champion which has an amazing set of fruit, some quite large, but none blushed yet....
Overall these plants have been outdoors since June and although not a windy season there's been enough to say they have grown into it and should know what to expect, harrumph. Hold your clusters tight, and so on....
I had to google the recipe for 'Thunder and Lightning' @Ken4230 and it makes good sense to me! We need something here called "Howlin Winds" but green tomatoes and peppers don't appeal to me...

59 this morning at daylight. Downright pleasant, not used to this kind of weather in August. Pulled 2 of my largest Karmen peppers this morning. High today will be 80, perfect weather for working in the garden. Just got back from breakfast at a local church that has a meal the second Saturday of each month. Today the proceeds went to one of the volunteer fire departments. 7 $ all you can eat, usually give them a 20, sometimes more. Back to the garden as soon as I change clothes.

Absolutely gorgeous weather here the last 4 or 5 days and the next two should be just as good. Topping out at 22C/72 F with very few clouds in the sky. Friday the weather changes with 13 mm/0.5 inch forecast followed by the same amount over the next four or five days. Everything here has appreciated the warmer weather.
