Same thing over this way; some of the vines are going ape $#!t (>8'/2.4m) and others are spindly, weak, and few fruits. No rhyme or reason.

When it's Zuke Season in Full Swing in these here parts, out comes the Vacuum Sealer for shreds & Zoodles; anyone who doesn't have one of these babies doesn't know what they're missing!

I have a couple of those in the food pantry garden. Mine are in the shade however, and may end up transplanted to a sunnier spot.

It's such a disappointment to get the wrong tomato after starting your baby from seed and caring for it for so long. I hope that it tasted good. I'm getting more concerned with this vendor each season with all of the off types being reported. If he grew these, he would save seeds and sell them as 'Red Big Bubba', which in my book is wrong.

Haven't had it yet, but will report back.

Not only that, but I sent some to select TJers advertised as such. And you's say you've had trouble with THIS vender?

My missive to Bounty Hunter, accompanied with the pic: Big Bubba, per your description, is supposed to be Yellow. The far left and upper center are from a plant from the Big Bubba seeds I purchased from you. As you can see, they're nowhere near Yellow, and are, in fact, hell-n-gone from Yellow, unlike the Lemon Boy Plus F1 (lower right); *Bleep*!!!

Yes dear Gotch. If you look at the 'Preferred Vendor's List' in the Tomato Talk forum you will see that I put up a note of 'Caution' on Bounty Hunter's seeds. There has been a huge increase in off type seeds and then he is even making the breeders mad that he gets off types of their tomatoes and then gives them the same name but with the new color. He then sells the seed without even knowing if the seed is stable. A really good vendor that is getting over ambitious and doing themselves harm.

I perused the thread back to early 2022; maybe I missed it, but all I found was this:

Just a hop, skip, and a jump (~1.2m/1.9kms) north of The Gotch.

Last season's 1st fresh Tomato BLT (07/24/2023) was a partially critter devoured King Kong, this season's 1st will be the lovely and long suffering Mrs. Gotch's FAVE Ananas Noire, planted just outside the kitchen window:

And from the Young Stricker plant, a greenie that is still hard as a rock and growing:

I tried growing the Ananas Noir this year! It fell, along with many other things, to a bag of bad media. But, as Sensei used to say, the difficult times teach us more than the easy times. He was referring to practice on the mat, of course, but I find that quite applicable to gardening.

Glad to find some fellow Wisconsinsites here! Yay! Even if both of you are Southern folk LOL.
