Glad it's working out! Of three (3) plants, two (2) died and wabbits got the 3rd.

I replanted two (2) and they're coming along; having some late season Cukes ain't the worst thing in the world.

Two WESconsin developed varieties: The SMR 58 is awash in blooms, and the Wautoma Heirloom have some beauts rounding into shape.

Does the cat retrieve for you? Of course not, s/he's a Siamese. Siamese supervise. They do not work. LOL

Oh no. Don't let it ripen. You want it to keep growing!

They sure are purty though.

Keep us posted on your results! I love Straight Eight but they quickly succumb to wilt every season. I've tried other varieties with the same result.

I'm embarrassed to say that this SMR 58 Cuke (a WESconsin variety which is bloomin' to beat the band!) was planted as an afterthought:
thumbnail_IMG_3030.jpg
Late started Sweet Success (photobombed by Prizm & Lacinato Kale) I planted it close to the Prizm in order to maximize space with an eye toward trellising it to the left:

At least it got planted! Hopefully it'll produce as many cukes as blooms. Leave it to the 'Scansins!

1st three (3) Reddys, (Mountain Magics, paging @Mark_Thompson) in the On Deck Circle for the lovely and long suffering Mrs. Gotch's breakfast bagel. Wautoma Heirloom Cuke, to boot.

Stopped by my Tomato/Garlic Ranching pal (Kiran) yesterday to drop off some of this year's Garlic crop, a SMR 58 & Wautoma Heirloom Cuke, and a Black Beauty Zuke. My reward? Being humbled; his ~500 bulbs included some real monsters:

I started it from seed, nurtured it through the cold spring months, and lovingly gave it a perfect spot in my small garden. Perhaps I should have a talk with my under performing tomato plant.
